...Ogden Marathon


I have decided to train for and run the Zions Bank Ogden Marathon! If anyone is interested in training with me, but not running I would love it!... Just let me know! And for anyone who wants to come cheer me on... it will be on Saturday May 16, 2009!

My training begins tomorrow, I will keep a weekly injury/success update going..check back often!

....i seriously need some motivation! anyone have good advice! I need to find more time to run, it just seems like by the time I finally get a chance to sit down it is WAY too late to be bouncing up and down on my little black sidewalk!

back running....

So I have made some goals, since Brian bought me my treadmill; one of those goals states that I must run everyday... which I am happy to report I have been doing! I think I am going to start a "no refined sugar", "no white flour", "no junk-food" diet.. I need to loose some weight and I am not sure I can run enough miles to make that happen... anyhow, I am also planning on running the SLC Marathon on April 19, 2009... is anyone interested in doing it along with me?

baja short.....enough said

... so I have not completely given up on the blogging world, life has just gotten TOO hectic! I finally have a moment to sit down & jot a few words...
I am now in my fourth week of personal training and I absolutely love it! In the beginning I was SO sore after my workouts, but I have started to take L-Glutamine, which is an Amino Acid that helps with lean muscle construction.. or something like that, needless to say, it has helped with recovery time.
My mom came with my last week for a session with the trainer and she had a great time, I think she now wants to get one herself!

Anyhow, to date I have lost 5 lbs... hopefully this will start to decrease faster when I get more serious about the "WAY less carbs" deal... until then it looks like it will be slow and steady...

My goals are not seeming too far away, so I am anxious to keep up with the personal training!

Oh... I almost forgot why I wanted to post.... I found the BEST workout shorts EVER... they are from impactfitness.com, and they are the baja short. I got them in Chocolate Brown... considering that is the closest I am going to be getting to Chocolate anytime soon! They are kind of expensive, but VERY worth the money, they won't fade or shrink a ton! They are amazingly comfortable too!

Anyhow.. I need to start cleaning up the mess I made in the kitchen! I'll try to update a little more often!

Your underwear covers more than your shorts
You can eat your weight in spaghetti

People say, "You run three miles...at once?"
You're running and you don't know why
Everything Hurts
Finish lines are just another excuse to stop
Your shoes have more miles than your car
You have a lifetime supply of band-aids and Vaseline
"off season" training begins a WEEK after a marathon....

In high school, my XC team made t-shirts with many of these sayings and more on the back.. I thought these would bring a few laughs...

Day One: Personal Trainer

So... day one is over, finally! But I woke up the morning after (being today) and I can barely walk! Holy Cow I am sore! I am ready to reach my goals, and I think I am more likely to with someone there to push me along. There is no way I would have lifted this hard or done anything to this extent.. so I suppose this trainer business is not half bad... if anyone has suggestions on what to do with a ton of extra lactic acid, I am more than open to suggestions!
